Westchester Chorale Is Jubilant in 2021

Singers Alert! Sounds of Jubilation are resounding from the Westchester Chorale, and singers across Westchester County are invited to join us.

The Westchester Chorale continues to hold rehearsals through the summer via Zoom as we delve into the soul-soothing sounds of Dan Forrest’s Jubilate Deo. This will become our live concert on December 11, 2021 when the Chorale returns to the stage at the Larchmont Avenue Church after a two-year Covid-imposed silence. We will be resuming in-person rehearsal sessions on September 14, 2021. We invite avid choral singers to join us. For more information please contact us at WestchesterChorale@gmail.com

More about Dan Forrest’s Jubilate Deo

Recognizing that, as we emerge from the infernal “Covid Fermata,” we all crave music that evokes comfort and optimism, Douglas Kostner, Westchester Chorale’s Music Director, has launched a series of bi-weekly Zoom sessions when he uncovers the inner secrets of each of seven movements of Dan Forrest’s Jubilate Deo. Under Maestro Kostner’s guidance we discover together how Dr. Forrest brings to life the global vision of the well-known text of Psalm 100, “O be joyful in the Lord, all ye lands…” The result is a stunning global celebration of joy brought forth in a variety of languages and cultures. This very contemporary oratorio has rightfully won accolades around the world.

Building Toward a Live Concert in December

The Westchester Chorale’s goal will be the actual performance at Larchmont Avenue Church of this wonderful contemporary and universally appealing piece as soon as we can do so safely and comfortably – hopefully in December 2021.

It is thrilling to see these virtual rehearsal sessions lead to the magic moment when together we burst forth in concert for our Westchester friends, family and fans to savor Forrest’s triumphant musical expression of gladness.
